The Vineyards Located in the Red Hills of Dundee, the Durant Vineyards soils are comprised mainly of the famous red Jory, but also include a small amount of Woodburn.  Over 60+ acres of grapes are dry farmed with minimal intervention, producing world class Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. The vineyards are in a unique microclimate that allows the grapes to ripen before the heavy rains that can complicate Oregon harvests. The Durants are extremely involved in farming their land and employ careful and sustainable agriculture. With one of the oldest vineyards in the Dundee Hills, Durant wines have set a benchmark for depth of concentration and elegance. The Durant family's goal over the past quarter century has remained the same: to raise high-quality grapes to create superior wines. With these goals, the Durants have achieved LIVE (Low Input & Viticulture Enology) status for their vineyards.  The objectives of this program are: See the vineyard as a whole system. Create and maintain a high level of quality fruit production. Implement practices that reduce reliance on synthetic chemicals and fertilizers with the goal of protecting the farmer, the environment, and communities at large. Encourage responsible stewardship of the land, maintain natural fertility and ecosystem stability. Promote sustainable farming practices that maintain biological diversity in the whole farm.
